Varieties of the Adriatic Family are most easily identified by the green skin, sometimes turning yellow when fully ripe, and the dark red interior. Varieties from this family often have a dense strawberry to raspberry flavor, sometimes with some fruitiness. This family has numerous fig varieties under its umbrella. Ripening season tends to be on the later side, some can continue to ripen after frost.
