Description
The variety 'Coll DE Dama Gegantina' was located by Pere Ginard who already had knowledge of it since childhood. It can be considered as a subvariety of 'DE -dame-blanc">Coll DE Dama Blanca' because its descriptors are very similar, but because of its weight and its size it can be considered a unique variety, because when multiplying it in other places it retains these characteristics.
From Romeo (Figs4Romeo):
Col DE Dame Gegantina was introduced by M. Pons and is harder to find among collectors. Beautiful light green, thin skin with a rich, ruby red interior that has the consistency of jam, and a intense sweet berry flavor to match.
Brian Melton on Facebook, October 12, 2020:
Look at the interior on Col DE Dame “Gegantina”. This is a sub-variety of Col DE Dame Blanc. It is only different by size and weight. I think it is juicier not quite so pasty as Blanc. It is of rich Rasberry with with lots of juice! You can tell how sweet it will be by the brown sugar spots on the skin. That is a good thing. Nice closed eye as well.
