Description
This is a typical Mt Etna class fig, discovered as a previously planted fig in The Bronx, NYC, believed to have originated from Italy. It is VERY vigorous, productive, and has some cold tolerance. It gives a small-to-medium purple tasty fig, and I cannot distinguish it reliably flavor-wise from others in this class, but it is excellent in flavor and quality when allowed to fully ripen.
Like other figs, I have seen differences in how the figs look when grown in ground VS in a container and have posted some photos of rather long stemmed figs from my in-ground plant and normal figs from my container plant.
