Description
Sao Miguel Roxo is believed to be the correct name for this fig. It was distributed by a grower who did not know the name as Azores Dark.
For me this is a very good fig - early, with an intense flavor. It has a very thick, jam-like consistency of the pulp, not juicy. I expect, as other have said, that it would be very easy to dry this variety in the sun. It's only drawback in my opinion is that is is fairly small.
