Description

Large red- Black figs have reddish-amber rich, sweet flesh of excellent quality. From Northern Italy it needs heat to reach best flavor and is known to do well in the South and Southwest, as well as California’s hot interior valleys. Said to be cold tolerant it is also popular for container culture in northern regions.

This is a beautiful, medium sized very dark skinned fig, with very good flavor, originally from Italy. There are reports that this may be the same as Bourjassotte Noir or VdS, but I have not seen anyone post pics of the figs and leaves grown side by side for comparison. Here in Western PA, it is a little on the late side to get a full crop ripening
