One of my favorite varieties in my collection. Produces tons of fruit consistently and ripens in time. Fruit averages 30g, is syrupy, has a light berry flavor, is very sweet, and has a tad bit of spiciness. The flavor is unique from my other berry fig. Highly Recommended Variety.
Many like to compare to Preto/BM. So.. My I-258's root and grow faster but are not as tasty as Preto/Bm. Mine have been smaller sized and not as honey filled. Some have split. The good thing about this fruit is it is not as dark as preto/bm so the birds and other critters do not attack as bad. I'm hoping it will get better.
Grew vigorous from cutting to over 6 feet in one season. Fertilized with 5 8 5 every two weeks and sprayed with half recommended mix of miracle grow rose food every 9 days. Produced average size figs but first year over 40 figs per tree.
