Description
This variety was found in South Carolina and shared or distributed to the fig community by Figs4Fun member, Grant411. Although this variety was shared, it is not very common to find in fig collections. The variety is vigorous, productive, medium in size with a small or closed eye. It is gree with a thick yet soft skin and a red-ish interior with a jammy flesh. Mild sweetness (not overpowering) and seems to be exceptional for hot, humid and rainy climates. Resistant to spliting, dries well on tree. Below are images shared with us here on Fig Database by Dave. Address to the mother tree was crossed out for obvious reason.
Jeannine D Fig 12-03-20:
Mesa, AZ zone 9b. Strawberry Cyprus. This might be one of the 'jammiest' figs I've had from my yard. Closed eye, small fruit (first year), stays true green all the way through ripening. It is loaded on each branch,2nd year in ground.
Rigo:
This variety was shared with me from Jeannine. I am so very glad she did because this has become one of my top 5 fig varieties in my small collection. It is productive, resistant to heat, humidity and rain. It is a fast growing tree and produces figs almost all year. Jammy, sweet and simply amazing.
