This is a seedling of White Madeira #1 that I grew from seed a few years ago and the seedling tree recently produced its first figs. I'm calling it White Madeira #2. The figs are very tasty, and have a similar flavor to White Madeira #1, and I think might even taste a little better. I'm not sure who the father caprifig fig is of this variety becuase the White Madeira fig I used for seed was pollinated by the wasps, and there are many caprifig trees growing around my house that are potential fathers. I'm not sure if White Madeira #2 requires fig wasp pollination to produce ripe figs or if it is a self-fertile like White Madeira #1.
