Strawberry Verte ripen in Mid- October in Seattle, WA
Fruit size: Medium
Sweetness: 6/10 very mild
Flavor: not flavorful/ lack of flavor, this is an Adriatic type of fig. And, due to the heavy rain we get beginning in October in my area this fig wasn't as flavorful as I expected from the high reviews others have mention. I think this variety is better suited to dry climates. There are other Adriatic figs types that do ripen in the same time as Strawberry Verte, but has much better flavor. Difficulties with growing Adriatic varieties in Seattle, WA is ripening time. Does it ripen in time? Secondly, will it split under heavy rain? Thirdly, how is the flavor? I'm not impress with this variety for my area. However if you shuffle/ greenhouse this variety I think it will be a great fig. I'm testing Adriatic figs that will ripen without shuffling. So the same fig under different growing conditions will have different outcomes. I'm not willing to shuffle this particular variety since I already have White Madeira to shuffle.
Overall rating: 6/10 (my rating reflect: without shuffling)
